Alison Kusmik is a New York City based filmmaker. She is a recent graduate from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, earning a BFA in Film and Television in December 2020. With a strong passion for human-connection and creativity, storytelling is at the forefront of all she does. Cinematography and camera work was her first love, but her drive to create goes far beyond as she continues to explore different roles and storytelling avenues. Most recently, she has been specializing in post-production editing and coloring, as well as directing and producing short form and video marketing content (music videos, commercials, social media content, etc). Conveying an impactful story thoughtfully and effectively through visuals is of her highest priority in all mediums.

Growing up in Northern Virginia, Alison found her love for cameras at a very young age filming funny sketches with her neighbors in their garage and experimenting with YouTube-style videos on her own. The moment she learned that film was not only a hobby, but also a career, there was no looking back. Since shooting with her 2000’s red Sony camcorder and editing on her baby pink laptop, both her skillset and enthusiasm have grown exponentially. At NYU Alison began working extensively on student and professional sets, gaining invaluable insight into the industry and discovering how much she loves the production process. She likes to move at the speed of NYC and take on multiple projects at once, becoming the multitasking queen she is. She is well versed in a multitude of different mediums and film positions, always being reminded of her passion for visuals and the power of film.
